If you want the look and feel of Pronghorn without the Pronghorn price tag, drive about 25 minutes north of Bend.

Juniper Golf Course in Redmond is classic Central Oregon high-desert golf: native grasses, sagebrush, junipers, lava rock, and big views of the Three Sisters.

It’s a fabulous public golf course and one of the best golf values near Bend, Oregon.

A Guide and Review of Juniper Golf Course Near Bend

Juniper Golf Course - Ratings

Here are some notable ratings for Juniper Golf Course in Redmond:

Juniper Golf Course: Basics

Juniper Golf Course is on Redmond’s southwest side, about 25 minutes north of Bend. It’s a public, 18-hole, par-72 course.

John Harbottle III designed the current layout, which opened in 2005.

The Golf Experience at Juniper Golf Course

Juniper reminds me a lot of Pronghorn. Same high-desert aesthetic, same wide-open landscapes, same junipers and native grasses framing the fairways.

The difference is the price. You’ll pay a fraction of what a round at Pronghorn costs.

The views are outstanding, with the Three Sisters on display for much of the round. On a clear day, you can see Cascade peaks all the way to Mt. Hood.

The landscape and course environment are a lot like Pronghorn as well.  High desert grasses, sagebrush, and, of course, Juniper trees.

I’d go so far as to say Juniper feels as much like a high-desert golf experience as anywhere around Redmond or Bend.

The clubhouse, facilities, and practice areas are above average for a public course. You get a full driving range, a short-game area with a practice bunker, a putting green, a pro shop, and the View Restaurant.

There aren’t a lot of frills here, just a great golf course.

The Juniper Golf Course Layout

John Harbottle III designed Juniper, which opened in 2005.

It’s a big course, stretching 7,186 yards from the Black tees and routed through native grasses, sagebrush, junipers, and lava rock.

GolfPass reviewers consistently mention the bunkering, elevation changes, and undulating greens. Native grass lines many holes, so accuracy pays.

During my recent rounds, the holes felt long, and many approach shots were long irons for me.

A few more numbers worth knowing:

  • Toughest hole: #5, a 449-yard par 4 (No. 1 handicap)
  • Longest hole: #6, a 651-yard par 5 from the Blacks
  • Front 9: 3,759 yards / Back 9: 3,427 yards from the Blacks

My favorite hole:

Hole 5. A very difficult par 4 that plays 449 yards from the Blacks and 391 from the Whites. It’s the No. 1 handicap hole on the course, and the views from it are beautiful. Take in the scenery, then be happy with a bogey.

Honorable mention: Hole 6. A monster par 5 that stretches to 651 yards from the tips.

My Recent Round at Juniper Golf Course

I played Juniper recently, on a beautiful fall Friday afternoon in Central Oregon in October 2026. I walked 9 holes under blue skies with the Three Sisters on the horizon.

Pro Tip: If you play in the afternoon, you will be fighting the sun in your face on many of the holes with views.  The ‘view’ holes are best in the morning with the sun behind you.

Juniper Golf Course Greens Fees

Juniper is extremely affordable in my opinion, especially for the quality of the course.

Rates change by season and tee time. Here are the 2026 greens fees, with Redmond resident rates in parentheses:

$42 ($38) after 5pm
$62 ($46) before 3pm
$47 ($36) after 3pm

A few extras to budget for:

  • Power cart: $23 per rider for 18 holes, $18 for 9
  • Range balls: $8 small bucket (30 balls), $11 large (60 balls)
  • Juniors play for very little through Youth On Course and the Central Oregon Junior Golf Association Junior Card

Even a peak summer morning at $96 is a fraction of Pronghorn’s rates. In the shoulder seasons, Juniper is one of the best golf deals in Central Oregon.

The Juniper Golf Course Annual Pass

If you play a lot of golf in Central Oregon, the Juniper Annual Pass is worth a look. You can pay annually or monthly. The 2026 tiers:

  • 7-Day Pass – $2,497 single / $3,113 family ($227 / $283 per month). Unlimited golf, any day.
  • 4-Day Pass (Mon–Thu) – $2,035 single / $2,552 family ($185 / $232 per month).
  • Intermediate Pass (under 40) – $1,925 single / $2,266 family for 7-day play.
  • Business/Corporate Pass – $5,610 for 7-day play.

Passes include unlimited golf, range and merchandise discounts, pass-holder events, discounted tournament entry, and discounts at reciprocal courses. Cart passes start at $792 a year, and pass holders can add an annual range pass for $240.

The math: the 7-Day single pass pays for itself in about 26 peak-summer morning rounds. If you play weekly from spring through fall, it’s a strong deal.

View Restaurant and Other Amenities

After your round, head to the View Restaurant in the Juniper clubhouse. The name fits: the deck looks out over the course, a pond, and the Cascade Mountains. Inside, there’s a full bar and dining room.

Juniper also offers lessons with a teaching pro, and there’s an active Men’s Club for locals who want regular games.

Final Thoughts - Is Juniper Golf Course Worth It?

Absolutely. Juniper delivers the Pronghorn look at a public-course price.

You get classic high-desert golf, great views of the Three Sisters, a challenging layout, and clubhouse and practice facilities that are above average for a public course.

If you are in Bend, you’ll have to drive about 25 minutes north.  But it’s worth it.  I’ve added Juniper to my regular golf rotation.
