Nicole and I love discovering new places in Frederick or Bend. Be it a restaurant, brewery, or winery, discovering fun new spots is what we do. I am happy to share that we recently discovered The Garage, a fabulous neighborhood Frederick pizza and beer joint, and we highly recommend you check it out.
We found The Garage on a rainy Saturday while craving burgers on our way to run errands. Not only did The Garage deliver, but I can definitely say it immediately landed on my favorites list for Frederick.
A Tucked Away but Perfect Pizza, Burger, and Beer Joint
This new Frederick favorite is not located downtown. It’s not in a suburban strip mall or attached to a hotel or brewery. It’s in an industrial area near the Frederick airport, frankly in a part of town not many residents go very often, much less to dine.
The Garage has converted a small part of this complex (a section that literally looks like a garage) into a small restaurant with a bar, kitchen, and small set of tables. Add beer, a pizza oven, and lots of character and you have a must-visit Frederick joint.
The Garage in Frederick - Basics
Part of what makes The Garage special is that it’s hard to find. It is located in a small industrial park near the Frederick airport, in the complex that is also home to Dragon Distillery. The restaurant front literally looks like a garage.

The Garage Menu
The Garage Menu is gloriously simple: pizza, sandwiches, and beer. Pizza seems to be their go-to dish, and most people dining during our visit had pizza. In fact, you can see the wood-burning pizza oven in the kitchen while sitting at the bar. And yes, the pizza looked really good.
There are favorites to choose from like The Spaniard (white pizza), Meat, or Capicola (pesto). Or of course you can build-your-own.
Maybe the Best Burger in Frederick?
While Nicole and I have already made plans to return to The Garage to try their pizza, as mentioned above, we visited on a day when we were craving burgers.
So, our first order during our first visit to The Garage was at the bar, and it consisted of burgers, fries, and beers. Let me suggest you find a time to visit this secret place and do the same.
There are plenty of good places to get a great burger in Frederick (Fifty-Fifty and Maxwell’s burger joint come to mind). But The Garage may have just become my favorite burger in town. There’s nothing fancy or sophisticated about The Garage Smashburger; it’s fresh, juicy, perfectly cooked, and delicious.
You can also get it with tater tots (loaded if you prefer) or fries (including Old Bay flavored, also recommended).
What Else You Need to Know About The Garage Restaurant in Frederick
If it’s not apparent by now, we highly recommend you go to The Garage in person. But other ways to enjoy The Garage:
- You can order takeout
- The Garage Food Truck is at Attaboy on Wednesdays and various other Frederick Breweries the rest of the week

Just went to The Garage for the first time yesterday. Best Cobb Salad I have ever eaten! We liked everything about our meals. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
This retired foods teacher will definitely be back to The Garage.
